Design Process.
Here is a general outline of what you can expect for most projects; however I am happy to tailor my service to accommodate your specific needs and requirements for your project.

The Inital Consultation.
We begin with introductions, a walk through viewing or view your building plans and a friendly chat. Perhaps even meeting the dog and kids!
This is an opportunity for me to learn about your lifestyle and gather the important details. I’ll listen carefully and capture your needs, wants and the practical considerations. Discuss style direction that compliments you and your space, your budget and project timing. I will explain more about what to expect from me and what you will receive from my service. It’s also opportunity for you to ask lots of questions so you can decide if am I the right designer for you.

What is that? I need to be sure we are on the same page. I will prepare a comprehensive project scope. Then we all know exactly what to expect. If it’s a small project, then ignore this step and go to #3. Otherwise if your project is large, then the scope outlines what you want me to do. If your project is a renovation you can either organise your own trades and manage the project yourself, otherwise I suggest we bring in some of my trusted associates to help out.
With the scope comes my written estimate for my services. With your approval we launch into the next step #3

This is when my creative work begins. Researching, gathering more information, ideas are evolving and concept sketches develop. Sometimes moodboards are created (project dependant) which help paint a picture of my style direction for you.
We meet to review sketch concepts and to discuss the overall look. We talk it through, have a coffee, make a few tweaks here and there, explore some more and wrap up development phase ready for stage # 4.

We’re right in the middle of your project. The fun stuff begins. We explore colours, patterns, textures, products and materials. Overwhelming? Don’t worry, I will present a colour and design solution that will woo you! Providing you with some options for your engagement and ownership. Final decisions are made. Then final drawings and specification documents are prepared (project dependant).

Documents are sent out, orders are organised. Trades commence and installation happens. The exciting stage!
During the creation phase, I will check-in to ensure everything is going to plan. I’ll speak with the project manager. builder and trades, answer their questions and clarify any details.
Then it’s time to wrap it up. The joy of completion. My most rewarding stage to see the truly amazing results and smiles on my clients faces. Whether we started with a renovation rip out or a slab being poured, I am yet to see a result that was not worth the time and money invested. Thank you and ENJOY!

So many clients ask me to help with other aspects of their project that is not my field of expertise, but I can connect my clients with my trusted network of professionals, suppliers and trades who will work with us to ensure we obtain the best result.

I was born with a natural eye for detail and I believe it’s what makes or breaks any form of design.

It is an art. Getting the right mix and proportion of design elements; space, form, light, colour, texture and pattern creates a stunning interior.

Using tradespeople who take pride in their work, without them, a beautiful design can be unravelled and leave us both disappointed!

I take the time to listen and understand your project goals and will keep this front of mind at all times.
Honesty
Yes, I will tell you if I think something doesn’t work, but I do so with respect. I will provide my honest opinion and explain why. It is equally important to me that we achieve the best result for your space.
Communication
It’s the key to a successful project. I will keep communication honest, open and regular. You will be provided with regular progress updates so you are kept in the loop at all times. All correspondence or messages received Monday-Friday will be responded to within 24-48hrs of business hours.
Weekend correspondence will be responded to by the next business day.
Relationships
I believe it is important that you find an interior designer that you can connect with and trust, so that you feel comfortable working with them, and can express what it is that you want to achieve.

Humor
Building or renovating can be a stressful experience for some. I like to alleviate that stress by adding a bit of fun along the way and to lighten the experience so you can enjoy it.
