Over 20 years. After finishing my studies in 1995, I landed my first job as a kitchen designer and continued developing my career in this field for 4yrs before moving into the residential building industry as a pre-start consultant for over 6yrs and then onto The Laminex Group as a Colour Consultant & Design Team Leader for 8yrs. This then lead me to starting my own interior design business in 2010, and as little as 2 weeks later I had my very first client and have been inundated with projects ever since.
Yes I am, and experienced most importantly. I completed 3 yrs full time study for a Diploma of Arts and Design (Interior Design). I am also a certified Kitchen Designer (KDA) and full time Fur-baby Mum!
Because I love what I do and I think that makes all the difference to the service you receive. I have been operating my business for 10yrs with over 150 clients. I have 20yrs valuable experience and extensive design knowledge. All of my work has been resultant from referrals and returning happy clients.
Also, a huge benefit of engaging my services is my special designers trade discounts that you will receive as a thank you bonus for choosing studio seventyfour. Often the savings alone will cover your costs to have your very own interior designer! Discounts can come from retailers, commercial traders or wholesalers.
Building or renovating is a big investment of your time, patience and money. Not everyone has all 3!
Some clients don’t have enough time because they work, they have kids, they are carers or live overseas/interstate. Others can find it a bit daunting or overwhelming and don’t know where to start. Then there is the investment aspect. Imagine you are about to paint your house, renovate your kitchen or build a new home and all that comes with undertaking such projects and the total cost including your time. Would you rather tackle it alone, risk making choices or decisions that you weren’t happy with and must live with or you dislike it so much you have to start again. Perhaps you overlooked something and ended up with a surprise or two!
Engaging an interior designer like me will reduce your time involvement, keep your sanity, reduce costly disappointments and ultimately result in a beautiful space that you will be more than thrilled with.
I really love small space design because it’s the most challenging. I thrive on problem solving difficult spaces and providing clever and unique solutions that are not only practical but are super stylish too.
The “Studio” is my creative mind. Most of my work happens up there! “Seventy four”, no, it is not my age but the year I was born!
I will give you a minute to work it out……..
My most loved era of design is mid-century modern, where I feel the most notable design classics came from and has undoubtedly continued to make a huge impact on today’s architecture and interiors.
Along with the influence of my siblings from the 60’s, I listened to a lot of disco music growing up, and the ultimate disco club was New Yorks “Studio 54”…..and I think you can work out the rest!
